St. Newman’s Idea

Wisdom grows in communion.

Inspired by Saint John Henry Newman, St. Newman’s Idea cultivates human wisdom through seminar, friendship, and shared pursuit of truth.

Our Mission

Recovering wisdom for the work God has committed to us.

St. Newman's Idea uses seminars and conversation to rediscover human wisdom as Images and Likenesses of God. From the heart of the Catholic Church, it asks a deeply contemporary question: What does it mean to have human wisdom in our day?

To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.

The approach

Conversation, curriculum,
community.

Three movements that turn information into formation, and formation into shared wisdom.

01

Seminar

Shared attention to truth

Newman-style conversation where learning becomes a common pursuit rather than a private transaction.

02

Formation

Wisdom, not merely information

Courses and curriculum shaped by Catholic wisdom, forming the whole person and not only the intellect.

03

Belonging

Communities of discernment

Communities learn to pray, think, and discern together in a fragmented age — wisdom cultivated among persons.

Who We Work With

Schools, parishes, neighborhoods, and small communities.

Wherever people are ready to think and pray together, St. Newman's Idea provides the seminar, the curriculum, and the companionship to begin.

Wisdom is not downloaded. It is cultivated among persons.
